Hearing Aid Design

Despite of different styles and colors customers can choose between two main types of hearing aids: Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing devices and in-the-ear (ITE) hearing systems. In the United States, BTE hearing aids are more popular.

BTE Hearing Aids: High-Performance and DiscretionIn their smallest manifestation, hearing systems of this type are about the size of a coffee bean and sit behind the ear. They feature a sound tube with a customized ear mold or an external receiver (RIC) that is placed in the ear canal. BTEs are suitable for just about any kind of hearing loss - from mild to profound. Despite their impressive performance, they boast a discreet design and aesthetic appeal. BTE devices are available in various sizes. Depending on the required battery strength you can choose, for example, a mini or super-powered hearing aid.

ITE Hearing Aids: Invisible Hearing ReliefThis type of hearing aid will serve as a practically invisible hearing device for you: Owing to its position within the ear, it can practically not be seen by others. Thanks to its small size these hearing aids are used primarily for individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss. Whether or not an in-the-ear device is suitable in your case largely depends on the condition of your auditory canal, which must be large enough to fit a hearing aid. Our partner audiologists will conduct a comprehensive hearing evaluation and, jointly with you, determine if such a hearing system is the right choice for you and your hearing loss.

Hearing Aid Technology: Unadulterated Comfort for You and Your HearingModern hearing devices offer numerous automatic functions that noticeably facilitate living with hearing loss. Nowadays, hearing aids are so much more than simple amplifiers: They are small, high-performance computers with intuitive operation. Today's modern hearing systems have very little in common with the bulky sound amplifiers of past years. Contemporary hearing devices are small but robust; high-performance but discreet; digital but easy to operate.
